Air Handling Unit AHU Cleaning
AIR HANDLING UNIT (AHU) CLEANING
Air Handling Unit (AHU) is a packaged assembly, usually connected to ductwork that moves air and may also clean and condition the air. Cleaning of the system components that make up the AHU can be defined as maintaining and restoring the hygiene levels in accordance with Australian Standard and industry best practice guidelines.
Over time and generally due to size, design and operational standards, many hazardous contaminants can be found within a AHU – such as dust particles, active bacterial or fungal growth, debris from rusted HVAC Components and mould spores, all of which can be harmful for the occupants of the area in which the AHU Serves.
WHY USE EHS TO CLEAN YOUR AHU?
Maintaining and servicing all of the system components inside the AHU is imperative to the EHS scope of works. Heavy contaminated growth or corrosion on internal systems such as fans and condensate trays can be carried through the ducting system and dispersed into the occupied space causing a health hazard. EHS can access and competently clean all aspects of the AHU and improve the hygiene levels, improve the operating efficiency, reduce energy expensed and improve the longevity of the system – protecting your investment.
